Q: Who can apply to be a vendor at Tight Knit?

A: Anyone who is interested in selling items that they have created! This event is about purchasing well made, handcrafted items directly from their makers. We only accept vendors selling their own wares, no distributors, please.

Q: What is the fee for registering as a vendor?

A:As a vendor you may sign up for 1 of 4 packages offered this summer. 1 Market Saturday for $40, 4 Market Saturdays for $145, 8 Market Saturdays for $260 or all 12 Market Saturdays for $350. All Tight Knit Summer Markets are 9am-1pm.

Q: What does my registration fee cover?

A: The fee provides you with a 10x10 area to set up to sell your wares. Each vendor is responsible for bringing their own 10x10 tent, table(s), chairs and display items.

Q: Can I sign up for 1 Market Saturday and add more later in the season?

A: Unfortunately due to the limited number of spaces and the need to map out all vendors for promotional materials we like to have all dates solidified before the start of the market season. We have kept prices very reasonable, we hope you will consider signing up for as many dates as you feel you will enjoy!

Q: Can I sign up to share a space with a friend?

A: Sure! If you think the space is enough for 2 vendors then by all means. Just please sign up together on one application so we can be sure to keep you together!

Q: Why will this event be successful?

A: For those of you who haven't experienced Tight Knit first hand, our Holdiay '08 event had 50 vendors and saw HUNDREDS of shoppers over 2 days. Our Summer Open Air Market became a staple of the downtown landscape and added a buzz to the city that had people talking and shopping!!

We are thankful to the Troy Waterfront Farmer's Market for inviting us indoors with them this past winter! The Troy Farmer's Market has a large and fiercely loyal customer base that comes out with their environmentally friendly market bags, ready to shop every weekend! It was a huge success for us.

This will be our second Summer Market Season!

Q: When can I apply?

A: Vendor Applications are now up! All applications must be in by 11:59pm, Monday, May 31, 2010. (If this timeline is an issue for you please email us with any concerns: info@tightknit.org) Please continue reading all FAQ's and then APPLY HERE.

Q: Do I need special permits to sell my wares?

A: Each vendor is responsible for filing her/his own taxes come tax season...we are not keeping tabs on you.

Q: What kind of marketing is being done to attract shoppers?

A: We are in current talks with several area groups about helping us to promote Tight Knit! Promotional materials such as posters and postcards will be given to each vendor to distribute in her/his neighborhood. In the works also is the Tight Knit Street Team!!

Q: Will this event be any fun?

A: Yes, oh Yes!!
